It’s a bit late, but Happy New Year!
I often ponder upon the strange effects the change of a digit on the callendar has on us, from staying up half the night to ‘see the New Year in’ to singing songs most of us only know a few of the words to, and even less understand – Old Lang Syne. And then there’s New Year’s resolutions…….. I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve tried to get fit……. and failed. Yet there’s something about an invitation to turn over a new leaf, to make a positive change in our lives that’s inherently appealing.
I wonder whether you made a New Year’s resolution this year? Or maybe you’ve given up making them, but there’s still something you’d like to change in your life, something new you’d like to take up, or something you do that you’d rather not?
We’re going to be running a brilliant new course called ‘Resolve‘ to help anyone who wants to make a positive change in their life, whatever that change may be. It’ll run over 4 weeks beginning this Friday, the 11th January at 7.30pm in the Foyer of St Stephen’s Church. Each week we’ll explore a different topic:
- Looking after your body
- Strengthening your mind
- Inspiring your soul
- Deepening your relationships
We’ll journey together to help each other achieve our goals, free of guilt and charge (though we’ll invite donations) and with a liberal helping of fun.
Go on……. Treat yourself!
and tell your friends too……..
Looking forward to seeing you on Friday. There is no need to register, though it would be helpful to have an idea of numbers. Contact me, firstname.lastname@example.org, or the church office 01225 420946 to register or for more info.
With all best New Year wishes
